Message The bigest variable is level of coverage. We had Geico but when we sold the Maplewood house and moved, we called Statefarm for the new house. For shits and giggles he quoted us for the 3 cars with the same level of coverage as we had with Geico. Geico was getting about 3k a year and SF came
back with $1,800 but since we were comfortable with 3k I had the agent raise coverage to adjust the policy premium to match Geico. Now we have something like 4x the coverage.
We get a discount for multiple products but SF was by far the cheapest we found. We went with Geico in the begining because we just figured they had to be cheapest given their advertising...On a seperate note...someone insured through Geico hit my parked car. They "hooked" into the front bumper and dragged the car 3 feet into the empty adjacent parking space. They were driving a motor home and the steps hooked the bumper in some way. Ever since, there is a creaking noise that sounds like control arm bushings. Geico told me to go screw, they wouldn't address it since the car is 14 years old. They only paid to paint the bumper cover and blend into one fender. They would not blend the hood or other fender. I am still fighting them on these points. Be careful with Geico. They tried to use an aftermarket bumper but I talked them out of it.
I'd think twice before signing with Geico.
